Cape Coast was a sight to behold on Friday, September 6, 2024, as the vibrant Orange Friday celebrations filled the streets with colour and energy.
The event, a key highlight of the annual Fetu Afahye festival, brought together people from all walks of life to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Oguaa Traditional Area.
This year’s Fetu Afahye is especially significant as it marks the 60th anniversary of the festival, a milestone that reflects decades of preserving tradition and unity.
Adding to the festive spirit, the celebration also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the installation of the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, making it a momentous occasion for the people of Cape Coast.
Dressed in bright orange, crowds of locals and visitors from across Ghana and beyond flooded the streets to partake in the festivities.
The lively atmosphere was filled with cultural performances, music, dancing, and a sense of community that exemplified the spirit of the Fetu Afahye.
As the city celebrated, the vibrant scenes were beautifully captured by Ghanaian photographer Samuel Moore, showcasing the essence of the festival and the pride of the Oguaa people.
