Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations to be hosted in Ghana, Freda Prempeh after inspecting the Cape Coast stadium is confident the facility is in good shape for the tournament.
Prior to CAF’s mandatory inspection of the facilities can will be using during the tournament next year, the Local Organizing Committee on Tuesday took a tour of the cape coast stadium to make sure the facility is in good shape.
After this familiarization tour, Hon Prempeh who is also the Member of Parliament for Tano North constituency expressed satisfaction about the extent of work at the stadium.
“The Cape Coast stadium is a sure bet for the tournament next year and we will choose either the Accra sports stadium or the Babayara sports stadium as the second venue”, Madam Freda confirmed.
“We will take officials from CAF round our three stadia but I am very sure the Cape Coast stadium will be one of the two will settle on for the competition”.
Ghana won bronze in the 2016 edition in Cameroon and would seek to grab one of the three slots to represent Africa in France 2019 women World cup.
