Ghana’s sole representative at the 2019 CAF Confederations Cup, Asante Kotoko will enplane to Kenya on Tuesday for their first leg clash against Kariobangi Sharks over the weekend.
The Porcupine Warriors due to lack of club football in Ghana engaged in a number of high profile friendlies and crowned it all on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium against the Black Meteors of Ghana.
Two goals from Captain Amos Frimpong and veteran Jordan Opoku won the day for Coach C. K Akunnor and his charges. Exceptional saves in both halves by experienced Felix Annan ensured the national U23 side could not could not find the back of the net.
“Management of Asante Kotoko has uttered their traveling plans from Wednesday to Tuesday,” Nana Kwame told Oyerepa FM.
“The team will leave on Tuesday and transit at Ethiopia, will leave Ethiopia on Wednesday for Kenya.”
The 2017 MTN FA CUP winners were handed a walk over in the first round of the competition following their Cameroonian opponent’s inability to reach deadline for certain requirements by CAF.
The former Dreams FC and AshantiGold trainer has named an 18-member squad for the game against Kenyan side.
