CAF Confed. Cup: Nsoatreman FC stun Elect-Sport to qualify for second round of prelims

-

Nsoatreman FC has advanced to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup after completing a dominant double over Chad’s Elect Sport in the preliminary stage.

The Ghanaian champions secured a convincing 3-0 victory in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In the return leg at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé, Walid Fuseini opened the scoring with 10 minutes left in the first half, and Stephan Diyou added another four minutes from full time, resulting in a 5-0 aggregate win.

This historic achievement propels Nsoatreman into the next round, where they will face either Police FC of Rwanda or Algeria’s Constantine, with the tie set to begin on September 15, 2024.

Before that, Nsoatreman will turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League, which kicks off on September 6, with an opener against Young Apostles.

This marks Nsoatreman FC’s debut appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
