Nsoatreman FC coach. Yaw Preko has set his sights on a convincing win in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup game against Elect-Sports FC.
The Ghanaian side, who won the Ghana FA Cup last season, will host the Chadian opponent at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 18.
Preko, who has taken over as coach on a two-year deal, is looking for a strong start in the competition.
He believes that securing a solid victory in the first leg will give them an advantage going into the return leg.
“The return leg will be in Cameroun, so we must secure a solid victory in the first leg,” he told Graphic Sports.
“We need to finish the job here and manage the scoreline in the second leg,” Preko added.
The return leg is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 in Cameroon, as Elect-Sport FC’s home ground does not meet CAF’s standards for hosting international matches.
To prepare for their maiden participation in the CAF inter-club competition, Nsoatreman FC has bolstered their squad with new recruits including Daniel Amoo, Adom Kwesi Yeboah, Solomon Oblitey Commey, Emmanuel Ankra, Richmond Opoku, Laar Ibrahim, and former Black Starlets captain Benjamin Tsivanyo.
Preko is optimistic about his team’s chances and is looking forward to getting off to a good start in the competition.
