Nsoatreman FC coach, Yaw Preko, has cautioned against complacency despite their impressive 3-0 victory over Elect Sport FC in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round clash.
The Ghana FA Cup champions dominated the match on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with first-half goals from Abdul Rahman and Kwabena Adu Meider sealing the win.
Preko, however, emphasized that the tie is far from over and warned that surprises can still occur.
“Nothing is decided yet,” the former Ghana international stated.
“Football can be unpredictable. From my extensive experience, I know that underestimating an opponent can lead to problems. Although we won 3-0, we faced several issues in the second half that need addressing,” he added.
The second leg is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, at a neutral venue in Cameroon, as Elect-Sport FC’s home ground does not meet CAF’s requirements for international matches.
If Nsoatreman FC progresses, they will face either Police FC of Rwanda or CS Constantine of Algeria in the next round.
