CAF Confed. Cup: I knew we will beat Elect-Sport away – Nsoatreman FC coach

Nsoatreman FC coach, Yaw Preko expressed confidence in his team’s victory over Elect-Sport FC during their return leg match.

The Ghana FA Cup champions had secured a 3-0 win in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.

In the second leg, held at Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Cameroon, Nsoatreman FC won 2-0.

Post-match, Preko shared his belief that the win was always within reach, citing the neutral venue as a factor.

“After our 3-0 victory at home, we aimed to close out the tie here,” said Preko, a former Ghana international. When it was announced that the game would be played in Cameroon, I was confident of our success because, like the lion on their emblem, our own shirt also features a lion,” he added.

Preko advised his team to start with a 0-0 mindset and adapt their strategy as needed. “We anticipated their tactics and chose to frustrate them by controlling possession.”

Nsoatreman FC will now advance to the second preliminary round, where they will face Algerian club CS Constantine.

The first leg is set for September 13 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the return leg scheduled for September 20 at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui.
