CAF CL: It’s a good feeling to progress to the next round – FC Samartex coach

-

FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has expressed his excitement following the team’s advancement to the next round of the CAF Champions League.

The current Ghana Premier League champions secured their spot with a 2-0 aggregate victory over Cameroon’s Victoria United after a two-legged encounter.

Samartex claimed a 1-0 win on the road and followed it up with another hard-fought 1-0 triumph in the return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking after Sunday’s victory, Nurudeen shared his joy over the team’s successful qualification.

“We’re feeling great because this is our first time,” he remarked.

“It would have been disappointing if, after winning the first leg, we came here and got eliminated, so it feels good to move on to the next stage,” he added.

In the next round of the preliminary games, FC Samartex will face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

The first leg is set to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 13, with the second leg scheduled for September 20.

Samartex is competing in the Champions League for the first time after clinching the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title.
