CAF CL: I am inspired by what Dreams and Medeama did – FC Samartex coach

-

FC Samartex coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has high hopes for his team’s debut in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.

The Timber Giants will represent Ghana in the CAF’s premier competition after winning the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

Last season, Karim Zito and Evans Adotey led Dreams FC and Medeama SC to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League, respectively, in their first attempts.

In an interview, Amadu expressed his ambition to emulate the success of Medeama and Dreams FC, who reached the semifinals of the Confederation Cup.

“It’s a privilege, and I draw inspiration from people like [Karim] Zito and [Evans] Adotey. We’re all proud of what Medeama has achieved,” he said.

“As it’s our debut, we’re aiming to go far and do our best. It won’t be easy, but the technical team, players, management, and investors are all motivated to take the team to new heights.”

FC Samartex has been drawn against Cameroonian side Victoria United in the preliminary round of the competition.

The first leg will take place on August 18 at the Omnisport Stadium in Limbe, with the return leg scheduled for August 25, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
