The Chief executive Officer of Aduana Stars Football Club, Albert Commey has announced that the 2016/2017 league winners are preparing feverishly for the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions league next season.
The CEO has therefore expressed the hope that his side would be drawn with the lesser teams in the preliminary round.
CAF will on Wednesday December 13, 2017 hold the draw for the CAF Competition set to begin in February next year.
Mr. Commey, who is also a Former Accra Hearts of Oak Spokesperson said, he can only wish Aduana Stars be drawn with the lesser known teams before coming up against the big boys later in the competition.
“I wish after the draw today [Wednesday] we are paired with the lesser clubs before we meet the experienced sides later in the competition”.
Mr. Commey who also doubles as the Media Committee Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said the club would seek to make the best of the G8 tournament which begins in January since the Ghana Premier League (GPL) is yet to begin.
He revealed that some friendly matches have been lined-up to keep the players in shape and fit before the continental competition begins.
“Now that the league is yet to start, we will put in all our arsenals and make the best of the G8 tournament which will equally assemble some of the big teams in the league”, Mr. Commey told Asempa Fm.
The Brong Ahafo based Aduana Stars won their second league title since joining the top flight this season with 57points after 30 rounds of matches.
