The Central Regional Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have expressed surprise over the Central Regional House of Chiefs’ silence regarding what they perceive as the persecution and unjustified prosecution of Ato Forson, a Member of Parliament.

The NDC argued that, the chiefs should have spoken out against what they see as unjust treatment in the ongoing ambulance case.

Yaw Boagyan, speaking on behalf of the NDC after a meeting in Cape Coast, hinted that the party may take action if the Central Regional House of Chiefs does not address the issue.

He expressed concern over the chiefs’ silence and emphasized the NDC’s expectation for them to publicly express disapproval of the prosecution.

“We have not seen or heard any chief making statements on the unjustified prosecution and persecution of the Minority Leader, who’s from the Central Region, in the ambulance case. We want to know why the chiefs are so quiet,” he said.

Given that Ato Forson is from the Central Region and is an active supporter of the House of Chiefs, the NDC sees no problem should the chiefs comment on the ambulance case.

“Ghanaians know that all the allegations levelled against Ato Forson are false and are just an attempt to intimidate and unjustly imprison him,” he added.

The NDC maintains that the allegations against Ato Forson are false and aimed at intimidating him unjustly.

They seek the House of Chiefs’ support in condemning these actions.
