The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) alleged some masked men stormed the residence of the NDC Parliamentary candidate at Bawaleshie and fired multiple gunshots, injuring several people.

The party has since withdrawn from the Ayawaso West Wougon by-election over security reasons.

But Sammy Awuku on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, said the NDC is being economical with the truth.

He explained that, he was told by eyewitnesses at the scene that, the shoot out was started by a vigilante group, Azoka Boys affiliated to the NDC.
