A Businessman on Monday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and destroying her mobile phone.
Michael Kofi Asare has been charged with two counts of physical abuse and causing damage.
Asare pleaded guilty with explanation but the court after listening to his explanation entered for him a plea of not guilty.

The court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku admitted Asare to bail in the sum of GH¢5,000.00 with one surety to reappear on April 18.
Chief Inspector Agatha Asantewa said the complainant Love Amofa, is a trader.
Chief Inspector Asantewaa said the two lived together at Japan Motors in Accra and are blessed with two kids though not legally married.

Prosecution said for some time now, Asare and Love had not been on talking terms and the two are litigating over a land.
The Prosecution said on May 31, last year a misunderstanding ensued between the two. Asare then severely beat up Love and a report was made to the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service at Adenta.
Love was issued with a Police medical report form to seek medical care.
She said on January 10, this year, a daughter between Asare and Love was taken to one Vera by Asare.

Prosecution said Love later went to pick her daughter but Vera prevented her and called Asare who came to the scene and assaulted Love.
The accused went ahead and ceased Love’s Samsung Mobile Phone and caused damage to it claiming that Love was using the said phone to call her boyfriends.
Another report was made to DOVVSU and a medical report form was issued to Love to seek medical care, while the Police later arrested Asare.
The prosecution said Asare in his caution statement denied the offence however the damaged phone was retrieved from him.
