Afrobeats superstar, Burna Boy has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the first African artiste to surpass two billion streams in the United Kingdom.
At his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London, Burna Boy was presented with a Brit plaque, commemorating this impressive feat.
This accomplishment follows closely on the heels of his receiving a Brit plaque for reaching one billion streams at another sold-out event at London Stadium just weeks ago.
During the ceremony, Burna Boy’s message of perseverance and the importance of standing up for one’s rights struck a chord as he accepted the award.
Upon receiving his Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. You know, you have to fight for your rights.”
When one presenter suggested that he had already achieved the milestone and didn’t need to fight anymore, Burna Boy firmly responded, “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
