Five members of a family of six have been reported dead after their building collapsed on them during a heavy downpour at Negersia near Takoradi in the Western region.
In an interview with Adom News, the Assembly Member for Negersia, James Amakye, who confirmed the incident, said the surviving one is responding to treatment at the hospital.

“The parents were not around so it was the children and a grandchild who met their untimely death. The building doesn’t look weak to have killed them but when we reached the house, we realised the entire ceiling of the room had broken in,” he disclosed.
Mr Amakye added that the bodies have been sent to the Effia Nkwanta Hospital mortuary with the help of the Takoradi National Disaster Management Organisation and the police after a call was placed to them.
