The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has debunked claims that the running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh is sick.
Justin Frimpong Kodua has said the claims are false and must be ignored.
Social media has been rife with reports of the former Energy Minister suffering a health condition and travelling to Germany for treatment amidst his weight loss.
The speculation was at a time Napo as he is popularly known was busily campaigning to canvass for votes for the NPP ahead of the December 7 election.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Monday, Mr Kodua acknowledged political campaigns are stressful and could lead to weight loss which may be the case of Napo.
However, he said that is not to suggest that Napo is sick or in a bad health state.
“I will be surprised if someone says Napo is not doing well. There is nothing wrong and so far as I’m considered, he is very fit. I was with him at the Fetu Afahye and the next day he went on a campaign trail in Mpohor and other areas.
Truly the campaign is stressful because you can’t even have time to eat sometimes so you lose weight and a whole lot, but you can’t base on that to say someone is not feeling well,” he stated.
