Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium will host the 2025 Unity Cup in May later this year.
Titled “The Best in the West – The Afro Classico Contest,” the tournament will feature Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago competing for continental pride and glory.
The action kicks off on Tuesday, May 27, with a historic Caribbean derby as Trinidad & Tobago face Jamaica in their first-ever meeting on UK soil.
The following day, African giants Nigeria and Ghana will renew one of football’s fiercest rivalries in a clash set to electrify the London crowd.
The tournament concludes on Saturday, May 31, with a high-stakes double-header: a third-place playoff followed by the grand finale, where the Unity Cup 2025 champion will be crowned.
AfroSport CEO Rotimi Pedro expressed his excitement about the return of the event: “The Unity Cup is back! It has been a long road to revive this important community event, and we are thrilled that fans of African and Caribbean football will experience international football of the highest caliber at The Unity Cup 2025.”
AfroSport Co-Director Andy Howes also emphasized the tournament’s wider impact: “This event is not only important for its cultural significance but also reflects the growing commercial importance of African and Caribbean football, as well as the expanding black football fanbase in England.”
With iconic rivalries, rich heritage, and community spirit at its core, the 2025 Unity Cup is poised to be a powerful celebration of football and cultural unity.
