Through the screening programmes, NDK aims to encourage people to talk about breast cancer, to seek early detection and to embrace its treatment.
“Through these screening programmes, we hope to reduce the number of breast cancer cases in Ghana” Mrs Ayisa added.
A medical doctor at Total House Clinic, Dr Julian Padiki Durban, has also urged men to assist their wives to check on possible lumps in the breasts, saying early detection can help save the breast and the patient’s life.
The doctor recommended self-examination for early detection, adding that men can even help to examine their breast of their spouses for possible lumps or cancers.
She also urged men to handle the breasts of their spouses with care to prevent cancers.
