The Minority in Parliament has urged all individuals to boycott any invitation from the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee.
The Suame MP, John Darko, made this statement at a press conference on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The first-time MP cited the lack of a legal mandate for the team’s activities.
“Our advice from the Minority is for every individual to boycott any invitation from the ORAL team; we are not going to be a part of it.
“We believe that there are constitutionally established bodies that can investigate any so-called misdeeds of the previous government,” he stated.
Mr. Darko further asserted that the activities of the team were illegal, accusing them of forcibly taking over properties that people have genuinely acquired.
“They are going about entering homes, disturbing people, seizing vehicles, and more or less taking over lands from people who have genuinely purchased them.”
Audio Player“What the former government officials have done is to acquire properties legally with no illegality taking place. NDC members have also acquired lands in this country. We bought government lands years ago. The people of Ghana must not tolerate this ORAL which is only out there to persecute former government officials, “he added.
