A youth activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Gyamfi has taken a swipe at workers of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company Limited (BOST) describing their support of their embattled Managing Director in the latest scandal of the company as shameful.
According to him, it is difficult to accept the stance of the workers in what he describes as fraudulent act which could cripple the company.
The Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transport Company Limited (BOST), Alfred Obeng is under severe scrutiny by section of the pubic over the sale some 5 million litres of an off-spec product.
Mr. Alfred Obeng has been asked to resign pending an investigation into what is described as corruptible act by some pressure groups which has since been rejected.
Union Workers of BOST have also declared their unflinching to the MD in a press confab held because they believe his hands are clean and have what it takes to improve the company.
Speaking on Asempa Fm’s Ekosii Sen on Friday, Sammy Gyamfi expressed shock and dismay at the unflinching support of the BOST workers to the MD Alfred Obeng over the controversial sale of some 5 million litres of an off-spec product.
“In fact I am shocked and surprised at the BOST Workers in their support of the MD in this fraudulent act. I think it is very shameful for the workers to do that. Holding a confab to support the MD in this fraudulent deal? What the workers have done is very irresponsible and should be condoned in this country” he believes.
He furthered rejected claims of the Union workers that an investigation into the matter is unnecessary asking what right they have to question the authority of the minister.
“The workers must know that this is a state owned company and not a private one so who are they to claim the investigation into the matter by the energy ministry is unnecessary. If the MD has nothing to hide, why is he afraid and hiding behind the Union workers?”
The NDC Activist accused President Akufo-Addo government of supervising over lawless acts in the country in the last six months of the government.
“It is only in a nation like Ghana under Nana Akufo-Addo will you hear or see something like this” he added.
