At the prestigious 5th edition of the Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA) 2024, held in Gaborone, Botswana, Ghana’s Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) and its Managing Director, Dr Edwin Alfred Provencal were honoured.

At the awards ceremony, which aims to recognize excellence in public service, BOST was celebrated as one of Africa’s “Top 50 Innovative Public Sector Agencies” in acknowledgement of its outstanding innovation and impact in delivering public services.

In addition to BOST’s recognition, Dr Edwin Alfred Provencal was bestowed with the esteemed title of “Transformational CEO of the Year” for his steadfast commitment to driving positive change and innovation in the public sector.

These accolades follow closely on the heels of BOST and its management team members being honoured at the Made in Ghana Awards (MIGA) in Accra by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana.

The consecutive acknowledgements underscore the remarkable transformation of the company under its current leadership. Once burdened with heavy debt, BOST has undergone a significant turnaround and is now esteemed as one of Ghana’s most successful state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

The recent APSCA awards further underscore BOST’s achievements. APSCA celebrates high-performing leaders, public sector agencies, ministries, governors, mayors, civil servants, and private organizations contributing to innovation and transformation across Africa.

Since its establishment in 2018, APSCA has been a pivotal platform for advancing thought leadership, innovation, and development in the public sector, fostering discussions on the continent’s growth and sustainability.

The 5th edition of APSCA was held under the theme, “Promoting Innovation for Sustainable Development.”
The two-day event, which included the awards, brought together senior leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from the public and private sectors to share insights on best practices and discuss transformative strategies for shaping the future of public service and promoting sustainable development in Africa.
APSCA 2024 continues to serve as a premier forum for civil servants, public sector leaders, and industry experts to explore new ideas and methods that support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
