The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has donated 50 motorbikes to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper East Region.
The donation, aimed at supporting the party’s activities in the lead-up to the December 7, 2024, general elections, is part of the NDC MP’s ongoing commitment to the development of the party and the region.
During the presentation of the motorbikes, Mr Adongo emphasized his dedication to the NDC’s success in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, with the ultimate goal of forming the next government in January 2025 to address the challenges caused by the current administration.
The 50 motorbikes include 35 allocated to constituencies without sitting MPs contesting the 2024 elections, such as Talensi, Navrongo, Chiana Paga, Bongo, Binduri, Zebilla, and Garu, with each receiving five motorbikes. The remaining 15 motorbikes were given to branch executives of the Bolgatanga Central constituency.
In his remarks, Mr Adongo, who is known as an “economic messiah” by many, stated, “As we gear up for the December 7 polls, it is important that the NDC, as the government in waiting, pulls together resources to support the forward march of the party.”
He further stressed the importance of teamwork and the need for both human and physical resources, noting that the motorbikes would enhance the party’s operations in the region.
The Ranking Member of the Finance Committee in Parliament reiterated his belief that only the NDC has the capacity to restore Ghana’s economy and improve the lives of Ghanaians, adding that the donation is a testament to his commitment to that cause.
Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NDC, expressed gratitude on behalf of the party for the generous gesture. He commended Mr Adongo for his continued support and called on others to follow his example.
“We are grateful for your kind support, and we urge others to contribute to the party’s efforts to secure victory and rescue the nation’s sinking economy,” Alhaji Bolnaba remarked.
The motorbike donation is expected to boost the party’s campaign activities across the region as the NDC prepares for the critical 2024 elections.
