The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has pegged the minimum capital requirement for the operation of a mobile money company at GH¢20 million.
A statement signed by the Governor of BoG said “Electronic Money Issuers (EMI) like mobile money companies are required to have a minimum capital of GH¢20 million.

“Under this license, EMIs are permitted to issue electronic money, recruitment, and management of agents, creation and management of wallet.”
