Blame occultism for suicide, not Akufo-Addo – Rev. Owusu Bempah

-

The Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry International has blamed the increasing suicide rate on rampant practice of occultism in schools and homes.

According to Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, it will be ignorant for anyone to try pushing the blame on President Akufo-Addo or prevailing economic conditions.

Rev. Owusu Bempah was speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua FM in reaction to widespread reports on social media that recent cases of suicide are as a result of Akufo-Addo’s blood sacrifices ahead of the December 2016 presidential polls.

Some social media actors, predominantly opposition elements, have suggested young girls are committing suicide because Akufo-Addo consulted powerful deities for political success for which reason the young ones are exchanging their lives with the spiritual underworld.

But Rev. Owusu-Bempah has sharply dismissed the reports.

“People should Akufo Addo alone, he has nothing to do with the cases of suicide in the country,” he said.

“A lot of these young ones are practising occultism in their schools and they never anticipate when an evil spirit will possess them and lure them into committing suicide…by the time they realise, they might have ended their lives,” he revealed.

He added, “one other factor we have to take a critical look at is the parenthood…there are some women contemplate suicide, abortion and all sorts of evil ideas all because they have regrets over the pregnancy they carry and so you have the evil spirit taking control over the destiny of the unborn child only to haunt the baby in future.”

“How is Akufo Addo, therefore, related to the suicide cases if you look at the spiritual analysis I have given you,” he asked.

“What I am saying is that we should be careful in our haste to politicise everything, we should also look at the spiritual aspects,” he added.
