Football administrator, Nana Oduro Sarfo says he will blame the Referees Appointment and Review Committees of the Football Association for the unfortunate incident at the Nduom stadium in in which Referee Nuhu Liman allegedly was assaulted.
The Week Eight midweek fixture between Elmina sharks and visiting Medeama SC was ended abruptly after referee the centre referee was beaten during recess, making it impossible for him to continue the game.
But commenting on the incidence on Asempa FM, Oduro Sarfo said this was the second time the said referee has been beaten, saying he expected the appointment committee to investigate the first incident before handing him another game to officiate.
“I blame the Football Association appointment and review committees for allowing referee Liman to officiate another game on the heels of him been beaten at Golden City already. It was too early to put him back on the field”, he explained.
“Referee Liman is a bad influence on referees and must be retired. He even insulted me in the presence of the other referees in the dressing room when I approached him in the first instance at Berekum and he told me I was an old fool”, Oduro Sarfo alleged.
