Black Stars need luck to secure 2026 World Cup qualification – Sports Minister

Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, believes the Black Stars will need a stroke of luck to successfully navigate the remaining fixtures of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The four-time African champions have bolstered their qualification hopes after securing back-to-back victories—a commanding 5-0 win over Chad followed by a 3-0 triumph against Madagascar in Matchday 5 and 6 of the qualifiers.

With four crucial games left to seal their spot in the global tournament set to take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, Adams emphasized that fortune will play a role in Ghana’s campaign.

“We will need luck to win the rest of our games as the team hopes to win the rest of the qualifying games,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

Currently leading Group I with 15 points, the Black Stars will face Chad and Mali in September’s Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures before concluding their campaign against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
