Owner and financier of FC Samartex, Dr Richard Duah Nsenkyire has expressed his concerns over the Black Stars poor performances.
The senior national team has faced severe criticism after failing to secure a place in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Ghana finished at the bottom of Group F in the qualifiers, with three draws and three losses, earning just three points.
This marks the first time in two decades that the Black Stars will miss out on the AFCON, which is set to be held in Morocco.
Reflecting on the team’s underwhelming results, Dr Nsenkyire expressed his concern about their inconsistent performances.
“Black Stars’ performances have been inconsistent. I have watched these players, and I sometimes wonder,” he told Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show.
“Most of them play in Europe and we can all agree that the players they play with are the same when they join the national team but you watch their body language and we can conclude that some of them are not committed”.
He also mentioned that some players have expressed concerns about the pitches, citing injuries as a result.
However, he believes the team can be motivated to perform at their best.
“Some of them have complained about the pitches because some of them leave with injuries, but I believe we can psych them up so they can give their best,” he added.
Despite failing to qualify for AFCON, the Black Stars will aim to keep their World Cup hopes alive when they face Chad and Madagascar in the final two qualifiers in March 2025.
