Black Stars boss reveals how Ghana can annex 2021 AFCON title

-

George Amoako, the management committee chairman of the Black Stars, has revealed how Ghana will be able to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana has struggled to win the ultimate since winning it in 1982 in Libya despite playing in three finals.

Mr Amoako, speaking to Asempa FM after the ‘Meet The Press’ meeting in Accra, said C.K. Akonnor has been tasked to end the country’s 38 years trophyless jinx but will be able to accomplish his task with the support of the whole country.

“We have been to the AFCON several times and the target is simple, to lift the trophy and it requires the support of everybody.

“It has been set by all Ghanaians. It is the wish of every Ghanaian to see the Black Stars win the AFCON after a long wait.

“Winning the AFCON would be a difficult task and it would require the effort of everyone to make this work,” he said.

The 2021 AFCON will be staged in Cameroon.

Ghana has started its 2021 AFCON qualifiers on a bright note after beating South Africa and Sao Tome in their first two matches.
