Black Queens to face Egypt in 2026 WAFCON qualifiers

-

Ghana’s Black Queens will face Egypt in the second round of qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) this October.

The two-legged tie will kick off Ghana’s bid to secure a second consecutive WAFCON appearance after their return to the tournament for the first time since 2018.

Egypt advanced to this stage after a 3-2 aggregate win over Rwanda earlier this week. They will now battle Ghana for a place in the final tournament.

Under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, the Black Queens are eager to continue their strong run after earning qualification for the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco by defeating Namibia in the previous round.

The second-round fixtures are scheduled to take place between October 20 and 28, 2025. The 2026 WAFCON will also be hosted in Morocco.
