Black Queens suffer defeat in WAFU Championship Opener

The senior female national team, Black Queens, made a losing start to the maiden edition of WAFU Women’s Cup campaign after losing by a lone goal to host nation, Ivory Coast.
A 70^th minute strike by the Nina Zote Kpaho was what gifted them all three points in the highly competitive match played at the Champroux Stadium at Marcoury province on Wednesday, February 14.
The Black Queens must win their two remaining group games against Burkina Faso and Niger to progress to next stage of the competition.
