Black Princesses Committee Chairman reveals target ahead of 2024 U-20 WWC

-

Chairman of the Black Princesses Management Committee, Gideon Fosu, has outlined the team’s goal for the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup: advancing beyond the group stage.

This will be Ghana’s seventh consecutive appearance in the tournament, but they have yet to move past the group stage in previous years.

Fosu shared his optimism about the team’s prospects in an interview with ChannelOne TV, emphasizing the commitment of everyone involved.

“Going into this tournament, I think the aim is to move past the group stage and then take it game after game so that has been our motivation so far and that has been the story for all the girls, for the technical team and for everybody that has been part of the team…so we are working hard towards that,” he said.

Ghana is placed in Group E alongside Austria, Japan, and New Zealand. To progress, they need to be among the top two teams in their group or secure one of the two best third-place spots.

The Black Princesses, along with their technical staff, have arrived in Colombia and are now preparing for the competition.
