Black Meteors begin camping ahead of Africa U23 championship qualifiers

Head coach Ibrahim Tanko has invited twenty-two players to the national U-23 camp to begin the first phase of preparations for their upcoming Africa qualifiers.

The selected players are expected to report at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Friday, November 30.

The Black Meteors will face Togo in a two-legged tie in the first round of the Africa U-23 championship qualifiers to be staged next year in Egypt.

Winner of the tie will move to the next stage of the qualifiers to face countries like Nigeria, Congo, Senegal and South Africa have all drawn a bye for the second round.

Out of thirty countries lined up for the qualifiers, seven will join host Egypt for next year’s championship.

The first three teams from the competition in Egypt next year will represent Africa at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2022
