The Kpikpira Divisional Chief, Naba Dazuur II, has appealed to the government, the Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, and the Overlord of Mamprugu to work towards lasting peace in Bawku and the entire Kusaug area.

Speaking during the 23rd annual Danjuar Festival at Kpikpira in the Tempane District of the Upper East Region, Naba Dazuur II lamented the devastating impact of the prolonged conflict on innocent people, businesses, and overall development.

He stressed that dialogue remains the best path to resolving the crisis and urged all parties to embrace peaceful negotiations.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Donatus Akamugre Atanga, who graced the occasion, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring peace in Bawku.

He, however, emphasized that achieving lasting peace requires the active support of chiefs, opinion leaders, and all stakeholders.

The Danjuar Festival, a significant cultural event for the Bimoba people, serves as a platform to celebrate unity and progress while addressing pressing community concerns.

This year’s celebrations were marked by a strong call for conflict resolution to pave the way for sustainable development in the region.
