Kumawood actor Big Akwes is at the center of an intense backlash following unwarranted comments on musician Cina Soul.
Cina recently shared videos of a dance session to promote her latest album, where she wore a crop top paired with low-waist jeans. The outfit, however, sparked controversy.
Big Akwes, in a live TV discussion, criticized Cina’s choice of outfit, stating that the ‘bad girl’ branding didn’t suit her. He went further, using unprintable words to question her mental state for exposing her butt crack to the public.
His comments have not been well received, with industry players condemning the remarks and the TV station for allowing such insulting language to be aired.
Prominent musicians, including the legendary Efya, have voiced their disapproval, publicly condemning the belittling of artists by outsiders.
Netizens have also joined the outcry, demanding an apology from Big Akwes. In response, the TV station involved issued an unqualified apology to Cina Soul and the public for the unfortunate incident.
Big Akwes, however, is yet to retract his statements or offer an apology as the backlash continues to intensify.
