Bibiani GoldStars not giving up on GPL title after vision FC defeat

-

Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Frimpong Manso, remains confident in his side’s title ambitions for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, despite a setback over the weekend.

The Miners were hoping to extend their lead at the top of the league standings but fell to a 2-0 defeat against Vision FC during Matchday 29 at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.

Despite the loss, GoldStars still sit atop the league with 53 points, holding a five-point advantage with just five matches remaining in the season.

Head coach Frimpong Manso, however, is undeterred and maintains his optimism for the title race.

“We have four games left, three of them at home. We know it won’t be easy, but we’re motivated to push harder,” he said after the game.

“Even for the away game, we’ll fight for something. We’re still on course to win the league,” he added.

Vision FC sealed the victory with a late goal from Edmond Asante, who struck four minutes before full-time to secure a crucial win for Nana Kweku Agyemang’s side.

GoldStars will look to bounce back in their next match when they host struggling Karela United at DUN Park on Sunday for Matchday 30.
