The Ghana NGO Coalition on the Rights of the Child is seeking justice for the young boy allegedly shot at close range by a man who claimed he was trespassing on his property.
16-year-old Kwaku Akambo from Kato near Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region said he was urinating on a wall outside the home of the suspect, Christian Adawusu, popularly known as Commotion when he shot him in the leg before striking him several times in the head.

The Senior High School (SHS) 1 student now has one leg completely amputated with scars at very important parts of his body.
His distraught father, Peter Adongo has accused Berekum police of cover-up after negotiating with the suspect to pay for his son’s medical bills.
But speaking on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, the National Coordinator for the coalition Barima Akwasi Amankwah chided the police for not taking the year-old case to court.

He said the conduct is an infringement of the fundamental human rights of the young boy whose education has been affected.
“This child must be compensated and the police handling the case sanctioned if indeed the allegation of cover-up is true” he stated.
Barima Akwasi Amankwah said their lawyers are in Berekum to represent the young boy when the case is called on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
