The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah has advised Ghana’s new President and his appointees to be sexually disciplined so they do not act in ways influenced by sexual pleasures.
According to Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, the desire for indiscriminate sexual pleasures has the tendency of affecting the moral status and quality of decisions taken by leaders therefore, the need for officials of the new administration to be careful of their sexual desires.
“Sometimes people who are sexually loose are often tempted by men or women and act wrongly, so leaders should be very careful about sexual pleasure and other pleasures, otherwise they would have to turn the truth because of something they have done with somebody either a man or woman, when you go into the Bible, many have fallen short here and that has brought disgrace and disaster upon them,” Apostle Onyinah said.
Apostle Dr. Onyinah who is also the President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, GPCC, made the comments when he delivered a sermon at a thanksgiving service organized by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council for the New President, Nana Akufo-Addo who is a royal in the area.
Apostle Dr. Onyinah’s whose sermon was centered on “Covetousness” also called on politicians to refrain from greed, extreme love for money and properties when in power, since it is the cause of high level of corruption in the country.
He said such traits lead to corruption, which inflict hardship and affects the nation’s growth.
He advised the President to appoint only selfless, God fearing, truthful, wise and hardworking persons to his government.
In attendance were the President, Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, the first lady and Second ladies, Former President Kufuor, Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye, Members of Parliament, foreign diplomats and dignitaries including, the UK High Commissioner to Ghana, John Benjamin.
Also in attendance were the clergy including most Rev. Asante Antwi, past President of the Methodist Church, top gospel musicians, traditional rulers in Akyem Abuakwa led by Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin and Konor of Manya Krobo, Nene Sackitey.
