Be patient – Frank Afriyie to Volta youth

The Member of Parliament for Afadjato South, Frank Afriyie, has called on the youth of the Volta region to remain patient and calm following recent unrest.

This appeal came after an alarming incident on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, when disgruntled supporters set fire to the National Democratic Congress Ho Central Constituency office.

The act of violence shocked the region and raised concerns about its impact on democracy and the rule of law.

Mr. Afriyie expressed his dismay over the incident, calling it an unsettling event that undermines the principles of democratic governance.

He stressed the importance of addressing grievances through dialogue and lawful means, urging the youth to avoid actions that could disrupt peace and hinder progress.

The MP also reminded the youth that the properties being destroyed ultimately belong to them as future leaders, and their destruction would only worsen challenges for future generations.

He reassured the youth that better days are ahead, highlighting the promise of a 24-hour economy that will create numerous job opportunities, enabling young people to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth.
