Be bold and tell Ghanaians that dumsor is back – Mustapha Gbande to NPP

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the current government to acknowledge the ongoing intermittent power supply issues, popularly known as ‘dumsor.’

The NDC argues that the government is intentionally avoiding an official acknowledgment of the power crisis and has not yet released a load-shedding timetable.

In an interview with Accra-based Citi News, NDC Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande urged the government to address the situation openly and consider practical solutions.

“Can someone within the NPP, under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, be honest enough to admit that, indeed, we are back to dumsor, as President Mahama did?” he questioned.

“It’s a matter of honesty—those willing to be truthful to Ghanaians versus those who refuse to acknowledge reality. They misled us, which led us to this point. This is a group that seems to disregard truthfulness entirely. They have consistently withheld the truth from Ghanaians yet are asking for another chance from the people.”

“They’re afraid that admitting to dumsor would hurt them politically, but the ordinary voter who endures these outages feels the impact firsthand,” he added.
