President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah, has dared the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi to be bold enough and declare that he will be seeking re-elections in 2019.
Mr. Nyantakyi who doubles as CAF’s First Vice President has reiterated on several platforms that he will vacate the prestigious seat at the end of his tenure.
However, several leading members of the Association have stated emphatically that Mr. Nyantakyi has changed his mind and will contest in the upcoming elections.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, the veteran sports journalist said, “Kwasi Nyantakyi should be bold enough and declare that he will contest again in 2019, because I know for sure that he will seek re-election.”
Meanwhile, George Afriyie, the Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association has already declared his intention to vie for the 2019 GFA presidential election.
“I struggle to understand those trying to demonize and bastardize George Afriyie for his declaration. He didn’t do anything wrong.”
“In fact there is nothing criminal about George’s declaration”, he added
Kwasi Nyantakyi has been president of the GFA for over 13 years.
