The essence of the much-anticipated Town Hall meeting by the Economic Management Team has been questioned by Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya Krobo, Ebenezer Teye Larbi.
According to him, the economic stakeholder engagement is a “total waste of time and resources”.

Vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to announce new initiatives at the maiden Town Hall Meeting which is on the theme, “Our Progress, Our Status, Our Future”.
A section of the public including civil
society groups will also be given the opportunity to ask questions bothering
them on the economy for possible answers.
However, Hon. Teye Larbi on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme Wednesday said Ghanaians don’t need a town hall meeting to known the economy is bad.

He noted that, even the business women at Makola market can tell what is causing the cedi depreciation than Dr Bawumia.
“Do you need a town hall meeting to provide a padlock to the cell in which the cedi was kept? We have a crisis on hand and what are they telling us? We are we joking,” he fumed.
The Lower Manya Krobo MP said the government just wants to create a platform for Dr Bawumia, known to be an economic colossus, to deceive Ghanaians.
