Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to harness the potential of the Afram Plains’ vast lands and water resources to boost agriculture, positioning the area as Ghana’s breadbasket.
Addressing a gathering in Maame Krobo in the Afram Plains North Constituency of the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of agriculture as a cornerstone of Ghana’s economy and a livelihood for many.
He highlighted plans to establish irrigation systems and provide advanced agricultural machinery to enhance productivity in the region.
He remarked that the Afram Plains, with its expansive land and abundant water bodies, presents a unique opportunity for agricultural transformation.
His administration, he stated, would prioritize these resources to ensure food security and economic growth for both the local farmers and the nation.
Nana Krobea Asante, the Krontihene of Forifori, endorsed Dr. Bawumia’s vision, urging the people to support the NPP in the upcoming elections.
He commended the party for its forward-thinking policies, describing them as key to the region’s development.
