The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged Ghanaians to embrace the recent digitalisation initiatives introduced in the health sector.

Speaking at the commissioning of the e-pharmacy and telehealth services in Ejisu, Ashanti Region, on Monday, November 11, Dr. Bawumia underscored the transformative potential of these services for healthcare in Ghana.

The Vice President explained that the Telehealth initiative is designed to improve virtual healthcare delivery across the region.

He noted that this innovative platform will allow Ghanaians to access medical consultations, diagnoses, prescriptions, and even specialist care remotely, bringing essential health services directly to their communities.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted that this service will not only help people save time and money but also expand access to quality healthcare.

By facilitating remote consultations, patients can avoid travel and receive timely medical attention, especially those in underserved areas.

Additionally, he emphasized that the telehealth platform will offer access to international health services, creating opportunities for Ghanaians to benefit from expertise beyond the nation’s borders.

Dr. Bawumia encouraged the public to support and utilize these digital health services, which he believes will improve the healthcare experience for all citizens.

“The Telehealth initiative will enhance remote access to health services. With access to your vitals and records, diagnoses, prescriptions, and specialist care can be rendered.

“The Telehealth initiative will save time, money, and resources. One can access international telehealth services as well; thus, it is not limited to Ghana only,” he stated.
