Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reinforced his commitment to improving the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by donating customized laptops and white canes to students at the University of Ghana.

The donation, made on his behalf by the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, took place at the newly established Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy on campus.

During the event, the MP reiterated Dr. Bawumia’s promise to introduce free tertiary education for PWDs if elected President in the upcoming December 7 elections.

This initiative, she emphasized, is a key aspect of his campaign aimed at promoting inclusivity and ensuring equal access to education for all Ghanaians.

Dr. Peter Ndaa, Director of the Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy, expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting its importance in enhancing the educational experience of students with special needs.

He assured that the logistical support, which includes white canes and customized computers, will be utilized effectively to benefit the students.

The gesture signifies the NPP’s broader vision of creating a more inclusive society where PWDs can thrive, particularly in the realm of higher education.
