The Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party(NPP)  Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has reiterated the commitment of the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to involve chiefs and the clergy in governance.

According to him, the struggle for independence was started by the chiefs long before the politicians came in.

Dr Opoku-Prempeh was addressing a meeting with chiefs and the clergy at Juaso in the Asante Akyem South constituency of the Ashanti Region as part of his ongoing nationwide campaign tour.

The clergy, he said have also been partnering with chiefs to spread the gospel and bring development in their various communities.

In view of this, he said  Dr. Bawumia has taken notice of how important it is to include them in national development.

For his part, the chief of Bompata, Nana Effah Appenteng said that in his 42-year reign, he has never seen a government that has championed development within the Asante Akyem enclave than the current NPP government.

Nana Appenteng therefore urged his sub chiefs to participate in the upcoming elections and vote well.
