Bawumia to begin 4-day tour of Northern region today

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will today, May 18, 2017 begin a four-day tour of the Northern region.

The tour which is his first since he assumed office will afford him the opportunity to tour most parts of the region and also visit his hometown.

A correspondence from government on the tour said the Vice President will first pay a courtesy call on the Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Na Andani Yakubu Abdulai from the Tamale Airport.

From Yendi, the VEEP will drive to the Yagbonwura’s palace in Damongo where he will pay a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Gonjaland, at his palace in Damongo.

On Friday, Day 2, the Vice President will pay a courtesy on selected Chiefs within the Tamale metropolis and some Zongo Chiefs. And later in the afternoon, the Vice President will join the Muslim congregation at the Tamale Moslem Mosque for the Friday Jumma prayer and other selected mosques in the metropolis.

On the third Day, the Vice President will drive to Nalerigu where he will pay a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Mamprugu land, Nayiri Mahami Bohagu Sheiriga.

He will climax his four-day tour of the region on Sunday, where he will visit Walewale, his hometown and meet with some family elders and party leaders in the Walewale township.
