Bawumia and wife embark on pilgrimage to Mecca

The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has embarked on a pilgrimage to Mecca, Islam’s holiest city, as a gesture of gratitude and devotion.

Dr. Bawumia, accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, and a delegation including former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adams, former Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, and Tolon MP Habib Iddrisu, undertook the spiritual journey to perform Umrah, the Islamic pilgrimage.

In a social media post, Dr. Bawumia shared, “Together with Hajia @sbawumia and some friends, I arrived in Mecca yesterday to perform Umrah. This is to thank the Almighty Allah for His grace. We also prayed for guidance and protection for us and for our nation, Ghana.”

Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude for Allah’s blessings and used the occasion to seek divine protection and guidance for Ghana.
