The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has urged roadside evangelists, religious bodies, residents, drinking bars and taxi drivers to obey the ban on drumming and noise-making from May 14 to June 14, 2018, to ensure peace and harmony prevails.
The Head of Public Affairs of the AMA, Gilbert Ankrah, speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Tuesday said the ban was to enable the Ga Traditional Council to observe their cultural rites prior to the celebration of the Homowo Festival.

He said during the period of the ban the usual forms of worship by churches and mosques should be confined to their premises.
The Christian community, Muslim community and the traditional authorities must show respect to one another and restrain their followers from making derogatory and inflammatory remarks about the beliefs and practices of the others, he said.
