The Pioneer Food Cannery (PFC) has been shut down following a fire outbreak at the facility on Sunday that killed two people.
According to an officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, DO1 Osarfo Affum, a number of casual workers were on an afternoon shift at the time the fire started on Sunday.
He said the situation has left four others in critical condition.
“We had a distress call that the fire started around 5 pm Sunday but it took us about 2 hours to quench the fire but unfortunately couldn’t’ survive and 4 others are in a critical condition” he said.
Though the cause of the fire is not immediately known, DO1 Osarfo Affum said investigations have begun to unravel the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, workers of the company have been asked to stay home till the situation is brought under control.
