General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says there is nothing scary about the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) report which has predicted victory for the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP).
To the General Mosquito as he is popularly known in the political circles, the report presented an equal playing field for both parties’ victory.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com, General Mosquito said the NDC was pleased about the report.
“We thank them for the prediction and the recommendations they have made. There is nothing scary about the report because it clearly stated what each party needs to do in its bid to succeed,” he said.

The EIU report dated September 13, 2019 mentioned possible weakness in the NPP election machinery by highlighting voter apathy and a disgruntled base who may feel left out.

However, it urged the NDC needs to present a “coherent opposition” and target the “unfilled campaign promises” of the NPP, mainly on jobs.
